With a declared \u00a315 million in the pot, the Welsh government have opened expression of interest (EOI) applications this month (from 4<sup>th<\/sup> July) for their Nutrient Management Investment Scheme.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you are unsure if you are eligible or if the scheme is suitable for your farm, <a href=\"https:\/\/genus-develop.go-vip.co\/promar-de\/our-specialists\/andrew-hawkins\/\">Andrew Hawkins <\/a>(Principal Farm Consultant) can talk you through the scheme and options available to you, as well as completing the EOI and full application on your behalf.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-what-is-the-nutrient-management-investment-scheme\"> What is the Nutrient Management Investment Scheme? <\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p> This capital grant scheme aims to to improve the economic and environmental performance of farm businesses. For the full guidance see: <a href=\"https:\/\/gov.wales\/sites\/default\/files\/pdf-versions\/2022\/7\/5\/1656683311\/nutrient-management-investment-scheme-guidance.pdf\">Nutrient Management Investment Scheme: guidance | GOV.WALES<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Maximum grant award of \u00a350,000<\/li><li>Minimum grant award of \u00a312,000<\/li><li>Maximum 40% contribution towards capital investments<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>EOI stage:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Calculate slurry storage requirements before submitting EOI<\/li><li>Accurate cost estimate required (note that grant value cannot be increased from EOI stage)<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Potential applicants submitting an EOI are encouraged to consider and prepare documentation for their full application, in anticipation of being selected. The window closes on 12<sup>th<\/sup> August 2022, after which selection letters will be issued at the end of August. On receipt of a selection letter you then have 12 weeks to submit a full application.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Although the process may sound lengthy and complicated, Andrew has completed many similar applications successfully and has an in-depth knowledge of the process, as well as all the information required for each section.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-what-does-the-full-application-require\"> What does the full application require? <\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Evidence demonstrating your existing slurry storage capacity and future slurry storage requirements of the farm in relation to <a href=\"https:\/\/gov.wales\/water-resources-control-agricultural-pollution-wales-regulations-2021-guidance-farmers-and-land\">The Water Resources (Control of Agricultural Pollution) (Wales) Regulations 2021<\/a><\/li><li>A 3 Year Business Plan<\/li><li>3 Years of Certified Accounts<\/li><li>3 Quotes for each investment item selected on the EOI<\/li><li>Evidence of funding available<\/li><li>Planning Permission, if appropriate and available<\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/naturalresources.wales\/guidance-and-advice\/business-sectors\/planning-and-development\/advice-for-developers\/sustainable-drainage-systems-suds\/?lang=en\">Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS)<\/a> approval (SAB), if appropriate and available<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-key-messages\">Key Messages<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Farmers with a live Sustainable Production Grant (SPG) contract for the same area\/items are not eligible to apply for this window.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>NO Nutrient Management Plan is required.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Successful applicants must be able to complete and claim on all Capital Works items by 31<sup>st<\/sup> March 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/genus-develop.go-vip.co\/promar-de\/our-specialists\/andrew-hawkins\/\">Andrew Hawkins <\/a>covers Wales and can be contacted on <a href=\"tel:0797%20111%209045\">07971119045<\/a> or via email <a href=\"mailto:Andrew.Hawkins@genusplc.com\">Andrew.Hawkins@genusplc.com<\/a>. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Could your farm use some support to enhance on-farm nutrient management, whilst improving resource efficiencies?
