This funding is open to farmers, agricultural contractors, and forestry contractors involved in the production or processing of agricultural, horticultural, or forestry products.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It aims to offer investment opportunities for new equipment, technology and infrastructure that strives to improve and enhance the natural environment. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The Farming Investment Fund is made up of two parts:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1 &#8211; The Farming Equipment and Technology Fund<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>2 &#8211; The Farming Transformation Fund<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"is-style-underline wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-the-farming-equipment-and-technology-fund\"><strong>The Farming Equipment and Technology Fund<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>This funding is set to provide small productivity grants to farmers and is based on the old small productivity grants scheme. However, there are some notable changes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The number of items on the list has risen from 85 to 120, and the cap is rising from \u00a312,000 to \u00a325,000. It\u2019s also important to mention that the minimum spend has been reduced from \u00a33,000 to \u00a32,000. If an application is successful, the applicant will be reimbursed once the item(s) have been purchased.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There are five key areas that are being covered: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/guidance\/farming-equipment-and-technology-fund-round-1-manual\/annex-3-eligible-items-specification-and-grant-amount#hort\">Horticulture<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/guidance\/farming-equipment-and-technology-fund-round-1-manual\/annex-3-eligible-items-specification-and-grant-amount#fort\">Forestry<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/guidance\/farming-equipment-and-technology-fund-round-1-manual\/annex-3-eligible-items-specification-and-grant-amount#reso\">Resource Management<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/guidance\/farming-equipment-and-technology-fund-round-1-manual\/annex-3-eligible-items-specification-and-grant-amount#prec\">Precision and Analysis<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/guidance\/farming-equipment-and-technology-fund-round-1-manual\/annex-3-eligible-items-specification-and-grant-amount#livS\">Livestock Handling and weighing equipment<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/guidance\/farming-equipment-and-technology-fund-round-1-manual\/annex-3-eligible-items-specification-and-grant-amount#othLS\">Other Livestock equipment<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/guidance\/farming-equipment-and-technology-fund-round-1-manual\/annex-3-eligible-items-specification-and-grant-amount#gen\">General<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Items in these categories include, but are not limited to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Timber cranes<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Irrigation sensor<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Heat recovery unit<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Plate meter<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Grain stirrers<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Mobile cattle handling systems<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Cattle crush<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Fixed sheep handling systems<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Cover crop roller<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Crop storage sensors<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Portable ammonia analyser<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Dribble bar\/trailing shoe<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Flow rate monitoring of slurry<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>You can download a full list of the eligible items <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/guidance\/farming-equipment-and-technology-fund-round-1-manual\/annex-3-eligible-items-specification-and-grant-amount\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There is also an initial offer available to upgrade slurry management systems. This includes grants for additional infrastructure and equipment as part of future rounds of the fund.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"is-style-underline wp-block-heading\"><strong>The Farming Transformation Fund<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The Water Management Theme is dedicated to arable and horticultural businesses growing irrigated food crops, ornamentals, or forestry nurseries. It offers grants for capital items that\u2019ll improve farm productivity through more efficient use of water for irrigation, and to secure water supplies for crop irrigation by constructing on-farm reservoirs and adopting irrigation application equipment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The minimum grant you can apply for is \u00a335,000. The maximum grant is \u00a3500,000.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There are set to be other themes available in the coming months, including automation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>You can apply online now for the Farming Investment Fund.
